I could care less the color neighbor's house or how many leaves are on a tree. The author justied an affair of the main characters. By turns lyrical and gripping, set amid a landscape of breathtaking beauty and unpredictable danger, this is a story you will not soon forget. When Olivia Shaw’s mother dies, the sophisticated food editor is astonished to learn she’s inherited a centuries-old English estate - and a title to go with it. Raw with grief and reeling from the knowledge that her reserved mother hid something so momentous, Olivia leaves San Francisco and crosses the pond to unravel the mystery of a lifetime.

This was a wonderful surprise loved the story from start to finish. Pleasant to listen due to the excellent narration which wanting me wanting to hear more. If anyone has an Alic Hudson, please send him my way. Can't wait for another story like this to come along. The descriptions of the places and people I was able to see in my minds eye. Falling in love, deep love, after knowing someone for 3 days, is ridiculous enough, but the fact this guy keeps sleeping with Fiona after her husband’s near death - well that’s just insane.
The Long Walk Home Book
My late grandfather served in the US Navy during the peak of World War II. Still to this day I am both horrified and fascinated by his war stories. I found out about The Long Walk Home through Craig, who’s been my friend since high school. In my spare time I enjoy photography, playing guitar, and cooking. I am a Mentor and Volunteer for The Long Walk Home.
In July 2020, Veteran Nation with The SGT and Skipper started on New Right Network, where Michael is a Co-Host and that ran until September 2020. Discharged with honor, Michael worked for the Department of Labor and Department of Veteran Affairs, a fierce advocate for our veterans and their families, fighting for their present and future. At The Long Walk Home, we believe events are an excellent opportunity to engage the local Veteran community and recapture the sense of comradery that is taught in the military. A common obstacle that Veterans face is isolation, so engaging them in social activities with other like-minded individuals can have a profound healing effect.
The Long Walk Home: A Novel by North, Will
Okay, here is a book that I bought for the cover...the lovely, utterly British cover, complete with wellies, flowers, and a red door. When I started this book, however, it seemed very much like one of those Good Housekeeping stories that I would occasionally read when there was nothing else lying around...a long time ago. But excellent characterizations, sympathetic characters, and good writing changed my mind before too long. Mr. North invites the reader to love found, love lost, and the commitment of relationships. As treacherous as his walk up the mountain he has created characters who struggle with emotions which unexpectedly have entered their lives. Detailed research into the geography of Wales, sheep farming, garden to table cooking keeps the reader turning the pages.

What a radical weather correction that was but it provided a wonderful environment to grow both a business and a family with two sons. As they flew the nest for college, I quickly saw a path to more time in Florida again and became a snowbird. I was able to withdraw from working and refocused on volunteering. I also returned to campus for my master’s degree. This helped me remain stable through a divorce and my own health challenges in my 7th decade. Will North is the pen name of an international award-winning author and ghostwriter of more than a dozen nonfiction books as well as six recent novels.
great book, lousy reader
But then a tragic accident stops her life in its tracks, and in an instant everything changes. Retreating to her family’s rural farm and the humble origins she has been trying to hide, Pip is haunted by what she has done. When she discovers the diary of actress Evelyn Mountcastle in a box of old books, Pip revels in the opportunity to lose herself in someone else’s life rather than focus on the disaster that is her own. I try to live my life by 2 rules; be cool to people and don’t do anything half-assed.

Her degrees have absolutely nothing to do with her current chosen profession of a real estate agent. She is a certified real estate mentor and finds tremendous joy in helping newer agents get their businesses on track. She also enjoys volunteering at the Animal Welfare Center with her daughter a couple of times a month. Alexandria White is an Army veteran, 91B Combat Medic, real estate agent, and mother to an amazing son.
Jackie is a mom, wife, dog-mom, Veteran, REALTOR®, and sweet tea lover. Jackie grew up in Utah before joining the Air Force. After 11 years, marriage, two kids, and several life-changing events, she needed something different and decided to separate from the military.
He has ghosted books for Bill Clinton, Al Gore, several famous Everest mountaineers, a team of dinosaur-hunters, a renowned physician, and others. Two of his books have been the subject of PBS and A&E documentaries. As a fiction author, Will has penned two romantic suspense novels, a family saga, and is currently working on the fourth book in his Davies & West British murder mystery series. Will lives on an island in Washington's Puget Sound.
Even though he had broken Victoria Bradshaw’s heart once, when he arrived on her doorstep with a two-year-old son, she found she could not refuse him, and the three of them set out for a castle in Scotland. There, Victoria meets the new laird and finds her crushed spirit awakening. Instead she meets an emotionally fragile young widow who's convinced that Lyn's recurring dreams have drawn her to Castle Farm for an important purpose - and she's running out of time. Apart from the utterly unrealistic timeline it is a wholesome story of loss and new beginnings. The narrative on this book was so bad and the voice drawn out in an attempt to give effects that 10 min in returned the book. I keep thinking about the hours of my life that I’ve lost listening to this book.

He is unshaven, sweat-soaked...but arrestingly handsome. While reader tastes are far too varied for us to ever call a book a "sure thing" for everyone, literary awards can offer useful signposts... "The Long Walk Home" is a beautiful story that kept me turning the pages.
An evocative story of honorable people struggling with the complexities of fidelity, and of the hope for a second chance at love. As Alec waits for safer conditions, he and Fiona are drawn together by loss and by a passion neither thought would ever reappear in their lives. When Alec stumbles upon something he never expected to see, he is faced with a series of choices he hoped never to make. When unhappily married Fiona Edwards answers the door of her farmhouse bed and breakfast, she discovers a tall man shouldering a hulking backpack.
She's used to unexpected strangers, but few arrive on foot. The man to whom she opens her door is middle-aged, unshaven, sweat-soaked…and arrestingly handsome. What neither of them knows at that moment is that their lives are about to change forever.
A superb piece of writing by a gifted author.
My mom, Ron and I live together with our kitten in Venice, FL I graduated in 1977 from East Detroit High in Michigan and went on to college for dental assisting. After a few years, I went back to school to become a Dental Laboratory Technician. I soon opened my own dental lab, making gold and porcelain crowns and running the business. After realizing that jewelry is made the same way that gold crowns were constructed, we began making dolphin tail jewelry which helped make the transition from dental to a jewelry company.
Fionna managed the B&B while her ailing husband ran their family farm with lambs in the pasture. Alec and Fionna were both surprised at their instant connection, but obligations stood in their way. Both Alec and Fionna had been through recent painful experiences, and have nurturing, caring personalities.
